Brutal murder of Australian comedian Eurydice Dixon shocks community

Victoria Police Identify Alleged Murder Victim As 22-Year-Old Eurydice Dixon

Ms Dixon was walking home after performing a comedy show at Highlander Bar on Tuesday night when she was raped and killed.

In a powerful statement on Twitter, Victoria Premier Daniel Andrews has joined the national debate on women and safety, adding: "Eurydice died because of her attacker's decisions - not because of her own". Her body was found on a football field roughly three hours later. We've all walked home alone and this time it just - someone decided to make sure that that she wouldn't make it home.

Another added: 'I hope that these funds may pay all the costs of this lovely woman's funeral andI would love to see a memorial to her in Princes Park - as we will never ever not be thinking of her as we walk our dogs, watch the soccer, have a picnic or go to the playground'.

Earlier this week, there was some incredibly tragic news about the death of a young woman called Eurydice Dixon.

BBC reports that a 19-year-old male has been charged with the comedian's death. Our comedy community is like a family & this news is beyond heart breaking.

"But maybe I need to be more careful in the future".

"I feel like when men attack, it's all about the attacker, what is wrong where this guy, who behaves like that". Instead of sending a message to Australian's about the despicable actions committed at the hands of men, and the need for us to teach men not to rape and murder - The police gave women a warning on vigilance.
