Gmail App Now Lets You Limit Notifications to 'High Priority' Emails Only

Gmail iOS app now uses AI to offer option of notifications only for important emails

These notifications leverage Gmail's machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities to identify messages you may want to read first. Notifications will mainly be sent for mails which are considered important or urgent.

The full rollout will take three days and is accessible for all Gmail users on iOS. However, the company knows how important Gmail is to most people, and making bigtime changes in one go can cause issues. Now, Gmail is going the extra mile with its love for machine learning-the world's biggest email service is using AI to prioritize Gmail push notifications.

The Gmail app on iOS (it's not yet available on the Android version) now offers users an option to only get notifications for "high priority emails".

It's possible that the technology simply looks for messages received from individuals, groups or businesses you interact with regularly, but knowing Google, it's probably a great deal more sophisticated than that.

Google's most recent update allows users to stop notifications for all but the most important emails that they receive.

Two-factor authentication: Still under the confidential mode, Google has added a two-factor authentication feature. On a related note, earlier this month Google announced that it will be bringing out the new Gmail design it introduced in April, out of the Early Adopter Program and will roll it out to everyone.
