Trump adviser apologizes for comments about Trudeau

Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump's trade adviser Peter Navarro has apologised for having said there was "a special place in hell" for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Trump initially called Trudeau's comments a "dishonest" act.

"At this moment in our history with our USA neighbours, Canadians need to know that all sides of this House stand united as one", Ramsey said. "That's what weak, dishonest Justin Trudeau did, and that comes right from Air Force One". We just shook hands.

An escalating clash over trade between Washington and some of its closest global partners had loomed over Trump's historic summit meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Tuesday.

Mr Trump also commented at the news conference on the viral photo taken of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and others standing before him. "That's going to cost a lot of money for the people of Canada".

"If you make a mistake, you should it admit it, learn from it, don't repeat it", Navarro said.

Other leaders of the G-7, including the United Kingdom, France and Germany - which were also hit by Trump's steel tariffs - came to Trudeau's defense.

If any team is willing to part ways with their top-five pick, Tobias may be the guy that makes a potential deal fall through. The other player with those close ties to the Suns is DeAndre Ayton, considered by most the favorite to be the top pick.

On Saturday, in response to US sanctions on Canadian steel and aluminum imports, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Canadians "will not be pushed around" and the imports were "kind of insulting". It also maintains strict limits on sugar imports that effectively raise the price of overseas sugar by almost 57 percent, according to the U.S. International Trade Commission.

The G7 summit came after the Trump administration chose to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from the European Union (EU), Canada and Mexico, which had drawn strong opposition from the domestic business community and USA major trading partners.

"It's very unfair to our farmers, and it's very unfair to the people of our country", he said.

Donald Trump arrived late for the first working session on gender equality but Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau forged ahead with opening remarks without him, commenting wryly about "stragglers". "And this was particularly important on the eve of a far more important summit in Korea". Dairy farmers, who number about 11,000, have an outsized influence in Canadian politics, being concentrated in the vote-rich provinces of Ontario and Quebec.

Canada's supply management system for dairy, eggs, and poultry, limits production, and aims to avoid saturating the market, by keeping prices steady, and incomes steady for producers.

Trudeau had little to say about Trump's threats when asked on his way Tuesday to a Cabinet session with his ministers on Parliament Hill.

The United States maintains a largely free and fair trading relationship with Canada.
