Milwaukee Police Release Bodycam Video of Arrest & Tasing of NBA's Sterling Brown

Bucks' Sterling Brown tells ABC: 'I get mad every time I watch' police video

Body camera video of Brown's January arrest was released by the Milwaukee Police Department Wednesday, showing officers' unwarranted use of a stun gun on the National Basketball Association player. I tell my players all police officers aren't bad, even though we have some that go overboard.

One officer admits on the video that he was angry about Brown's demeanor during the incident.

Lucas said since the Brown body camera video was released, issues such as the escalation of the situation, the use of force and the large police response are issues expected to be discussed in court.

Brown's club, the Milwaukee Bucks, have backed their player, saying: "The abuse and intimidation that Sterling experienced at the hands of Milwaukee Police was shameful and inexcusable".

Brown is rightfully using the moment to stand up against the use of aggressive tactics by police officers and what the player and many others feel is a direct attack by authorities against people of color. Grams was the first officer who encountered Brown.

We're learning three officers have been suspended following the arrest and tasing of Bucks' player Sterling Brown.

Also, the use of body cameras worn by Milwaukee officers has not reduced use-of-force incidents, according to a recently published Urban Institute study.

When Brown exits the Walgreens, he is confronted by a Milwaukee police officer.

Sources told the Journal Sentinel that two sergeants, Jeffrey S. Krueger and Sean A. Mahnke, were among those who received discipline. After more cops arrived on scene, the Bucks' guard has a conversation with them for several minutes before he is wrestled to the ground.

China says it hopes US-North Korea summit can proceed smoothly
Trump said if such an agreement is reached, China, Japan and South Korea would invest large sums to "make North Korea great". He did not detail the conditions he had laid out for Kim but said if they aren't met, "we won't have the meeting".

The video then shows an officer looking at papers and examining the interior of Brown's vehicle.

"The common denominator in all of these situations has been racism towards the minority community, the abuse of power, and the lack of accountability for officers involved", Brown said.

"My experience in January with the Milwaukee Police Department was wrong and shouldn't happen to anybody".

Irvin said that every player within the Mac Irvin Fire and his Morgan Park team are educated on how to deal with police officers when stopped.

It was discovered that Grams was only suspended for two days for his role in Brown's arrest. "I promise that when the department is involved in events of this nature, we'll be honest about them, and we are", he said.

Milwaukee's Black community members have protested for decades against police officers' unfair, racist treatment, which was substantiated by the study, Urban Milwaukee reported. "Sterling has our full support as he shares his story and takes action to provide accountability".

In 2016, the city paid $5m to settle a lawsuit by 74 black residents who said police illegally strip-searched them between 2008 and 2012.

When I took office, I vowed to rebuild trust between the Milwaukee Police Department and the community.
