A friend of Pedro's spoke with a local CBS News affiliate about the Starbucks incident this week, describing him as sad following the event. "We have apologized to the customer directly and are working to make things right". "This kind of mistake is unacceptable, and we will take additional steps to assess what happened here and how our partners can be better".
"After the April 12 incident, Starbucks vowed to "take actions" to fix and reaffirm our values and vision for the kind of company we want to be".
Starbucks has come under fire after a video went viral in May of police arresting black people sitting in a Philadelphia restaurant.
