Riz Ahmed Wants to Write 'Ms. Marvel' With Mindy Kaling

Miss Marvel: Muslim superhero film 'in the works', Marvel says

Marvel Studios' CEO Kevin Feige spoke about the possibility of the Muslim superhero coming to the big screen earlier this month with BBC.

Those excited to be a part of Ms. Marvel include Pakistani-British actor Riz Ahmed who recently took to Twitter in an attempt to offer his expertise and write the movie's screenplay.

In case you're unfamiliar, the other two stars named are Mindy Kaling, creator and star of The Mindy Project and co-star of A Wrinkle In Time, and Kumail Nanjiani, Oscar-nominated co-writer of The Big Sick and co-star of HBO's Silicon Valley.

Co-creator of Kamala Khan and editor of the Ms. Marvel comics Sana Amanat even weighed in with an enigmatic be-monocled emoji.

He had followed up those comments with a possible introduction of Kamala Khan aka Miss Marvel into the MCU.

Riz Ahmed offers to co-write Miss Marvel screenplay with Mindy Kaling, Kumail Nanjiani

"Ms. Marvel.is definitely sort of in the works", Feige had said. In 2014, Marvel released a separate comic for this character, making her the first Muslim, which received its own line of comics. "We have plans for that once we introduce Captain Marvel".

In a tweet, Ahmed wrote, "So when do Marvel Studio want me, Mindy Kaling and Kumail Nanjiani to get started on the MsMarvel screenplay?"

Khan is a teenage Pakistani American from Jersey City, New Jersey with shapeshifting abilities and assumes the mantle of Ms Marvel from her idol, Carol Danvers after Danvers becomes Captain Marvel. I am obsessed with this comic book, I've read them all.

Like Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, Ahmed is both Muslim and Pakistani, as is Nanjiani.
