He asked if there was a suicide note or a statement by the deceased before the police or a magistrate to say that she was forced to or being forced to commit suicide.

The Delhi Police on Monday (May 14) submitted the charge-sheet in the Sunanda Pushkar death case at the Patiala House Court.

The police, in its charge sheet which runs into around 3,000 pages, has also alleged that Tharoor had subjected his wife to cruelty.

Tharoor has been charged under sections of the Indian Penal Code that relate to abetment of suicide and cruelty against wife. Days before her death, Pushkar has accused her husband publically of having an affair with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar.

Tharoor, 62, who is the Congress MP for the Thiruvananthapuram district in Kerala, was previously Under Secretary General of the United Nations for Communications and Public Information from June 2002 to February 2007.

The best-selling author and colourful orator also questioned the "methods and motivations" of Delhi police, suggesting a political vendetta was at play. The next date of hearing in the case is May 24.

The feeling among the owners David Sullivan and David Gold is that they need a manager to take them further forward. West Ham United have reportedly chose to part company with manager David Moyes after talks were held on Monday.

Charge-sheet has been filed under section 306 and 498A, according to which Police suspects that one party has led to the suicide of the other and that there was marital discord.

He entered Indian politics in 2009, but was forced to resign from his first ministerial position in 2010 amid controversy over his involvement in bidding for a cricket team.

Soon after the chargesheet was filed, Tharoor took to Twitter to voice his opinion on the case.

Former Union Minister in Manmohan Singh's cabinet and sitting MP Shashi Tharoor is back in the news for wrong reasons. BJP leaders, notably Subramanian Swamy, have extensively targeted Tharoor over the case.

"We completely reject the charge against Tharoor", he said emphatically.

The Delhi high court had, on October 26 past year, dismissed BJP leader Subramanian Swamy's plea for a court-monitored SIT probe into Sunanda's death, terming his PIL as a "textbook example of political interest litigation".
