FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY: Strong storms possible Sunday

Fantastic Weather Today, Strong Storms Saturday

A large part of the WBTV viewing area, including the Foothills & Piedmont, has now been upgraded to an Enhanced Risk (orange area) of severe weather. Highs around 83. Wind S 10-20 miles per hour. Look for a little sleet this morning mixing with snow at times before we see an overall change to snow in the afternoon hours. The clouds we have around this afternoon evening will gradually start to decrease.

Warmer weather will return to the south plains and the rolling plains on Monday and Tuesday with highs climbing back into the upper 80s. Monday morning will be a very windy, cold time to be outside.

Once the severe storm threat is over we'll still have to contend with a flooding threat.

Red Sox off to Best Start in Franchise History
The Red Sox had already matched their best start over 12 games with a 6-3 win over the Yankees on Thursday night. Many wondered why the Red Sox were going to rely on an aging designated hitter coming off a down year.

Things will begin to turn on Tuesday, with rain gradually clearing eastwards, and showers following for the rest of the day.

Some of the storms could be strong in the afternoon. The remainder of the state is under a slight risk with scattered severe storms possible. Lows around 62. Highs around 78. Review your severe weather plan and know what you should do if a severe storm or tornado is near you. Breezy. Temperatures Falling into the Lower 60s. Most of the day will be dry for many, but in west/northwest Georgia, you'll need to be on alert for storms as early as Saturday afternoon. Southerly wind 5-10 miles per hour.

The weekend's wind gusts are expected to blow through the week, but rain chances will evaporate. Lingering showers will extend all the way into Sunday morning though. It looks like accumulation today will be in a two to five inch range with strong northeast winds doing what they can to blow it around, making for bad travel conditions. Today, many of us hit a high of 80-degrees and above!
