Stallone wishes Schwarzenegger well in his recovery

WWE Hall Of Famer, Movie Icon Schwarzenegger Undergoes Heart Surgery

Actor and former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger has undergone heart surgery, but contrary to some reports, it was a planned procedure, according to his production company's chief of staff, Daniel Ketchell.

LOS ANGELES-Sylvester Stallone has confirmed Arnold Schwarzenegger is "better than ever" following his open heart surgery.

The 71-year-old Hollywood actor, best known for the Rocky series said he would "love to" visit Arnold in hospital "if (he) gets a chance".

"There are some things you just can't give up - stogies and breathing", Stallone said, adding that he "doubts" Schwarzenegger would give up smoking stogies. "Schwarzenegger came to, and it really began I'm back, so he's in good spirits", wrote Ketchell.

On Thursday, he needed emergency open-heart surgery while doctors unblocked a pulmonary valve.

Indore Building Collapse: Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan Announces Ex-Gratia
At least 10 people were killed and two others critically injured after a four-storey building collapsed in Indore on Saturday. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have condoled the deaths in the incident.

Schwarzenegger, a former Mr Universe, underwent non-urgent heart surgery 21 years ago to have the valve replaced, due to a condition he said was congenital and nothing to do with steroids.

Arnold went into surgery at Cedars-Sinai for a catheter valve replacement.

Cedars-Sinai hospital refused to confirm Schwarzenegger's treatment, citing privacy laws, but his spokesman publicly thanked the medical team for their "tireless efforts".

Surgeons were forced to carry out open-heart surgery but his spokesman said: "His first words were actually 'I'm back!' so he is in good spirits". They both starred in the first three Expendables movies, as well as 2013's Escape Plan.

"We had a violent hatred", Stallone told David Letterman in 2013.
