Despite their efforts the coalition has been unable to push the Houthis out of Sanaa and northern Yemen.

He praised the group for firing ballistic missiles at Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

"We are wondering why Iran is spending a lot of money in a country with which it has no real historical ties or interests, rather than using its influence to end the conflict for the benefit of the Yemeni people", the ministers said in their statement.

One Egyptian was killed and two of his countrymen injured when shrapnel fell into the streets of the Saudi capital, according to authorities.

Khoshrou also expressed dismay at the sale of U.S. weapons to Saudi Arabia, calling on the Muslin world and the global community to pressure Saudi Arabia to stop killings in Yemen.

The first attack, which also targeted Riyadh worldwide airport on November 4, triggered the tightening of a longstanding Saudi-led blockade of Yemen - already on the verge of starvation.

The attacks against the Saudi positions came just ahead of Monday that marks the anniversary of the start of an ongoing devastating war on Yemen.

In a speech to demonstrators, Houthi leader Saleh al-Sammad told the Saudis to "stop your airstrikes, and we will stop our missiles".

The Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen's Houthi movement said on Monday that ballistic missile attacks on Saudi Arabia were a serious escalation and threat to regional and worldwide security.

The latest Huthi missile attacks on March 25 were the most extensive and deadly so far.

Riyadh has been the target of similar attacks, but this is the first one that has resulted in a fatality. Other missiles were fired at the southern cities of Najran, Jizan and Khamis Mushait. The Yemen border have always been targeted by the Yemeni rebels.

What is happening in Yemen?

In 2015, Saudi Arabia and Arab allies launched a massive air campaign against Houthi rebels, who overran much of Yemen, including capital Sanaa, a year earlier. During the struggle, terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda and ISIS also rose in power and emerged out stronger.

The Houthis are backed by Iran and its members follow the Shia Islamic branch of Zaidism.

The Saudi-led coalition began its air raids in support of Hadi's government in March 2015. Riyadh had alleged Iran for supplying the powerful missile, which was denied by Tehran.

He claimed that an Iranian-made missile with Persian writing was confiscated in Yemen, and a shipment of missiles from Iran haی been seized before they were used by Houthi fighters.

"Operatives from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah" helped put it back together again and launch it, Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed al-Jubeir told CNN.

He added, "This is a very, very hostile act".
