Director General of Police, S.P Vaid said that three militants in an undisclosed location are trapped and engaged in encounter after an unsuccessful attempt of weapon snatching from PSO.

"Militants fired upon the two personal security officers of a political activist in Khonmoh, who repulsed the attack but in the incident one of them was wounded", a police spokesman said.

A paramilitary CRPF trooper was injured in an ongoing gunfight at Balhama area of Khanmoh in outskirts of Srinagar city on Thursday.

While Khan escaped the attack unhurt, his PSO, constable Bilal Ahmad, was injured in the incident, he added.
