Kejriwal's advisor quizzed over chief secy 'assault' quits, cites personal reasons

AAP's Sanjay Singh moves Bill in RS to end sealings

Days after questioned by the police, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's advisor VK Jain - a key witness in the Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash assault case - resigned from the post on Monday citing personal reasons. Jain has resigned citing "personal reasons", a source said.

Jain was appointed to the post in September previous year, days after he had retired as the CEO of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB).

Once a close confidante of Kejriwal, relations between him and the Delhi CM strained after Jain told the Delhi Police that he saw Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal "physically assaulting" Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash. He sent copies of the resignation to the Chief Minister's Office and Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. The board is chaired by Kejriwal.

Prior to being appointed as adviser to the Chief Minister in September 2017, Mr. Jain had served in various posts within the Delhi government.

Hiring to remain steady in April-June 2018 time frame
Meanwhile, public and social sector employers report no quarter-over-quarter change and a relative stability when compared with this time one year ago.

In solidarity to Prakash, IAS and Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Services (DCS) officers have stopped attending meetings with AAP ministers, only maintaining written communication with them. Since the AAP government was formed, the Delhi government and the bureaucracy have been at loggerheads on a range of issues.

The traders have urged both the Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi government and the central government to keep politics aside and help address their concern by bringing in an ordinance in the house.

Jain is claimed to have told police that he went to the washroom after reaching Kejriwal's official residence and when he came out, he saw the two MLAs assaulting the chief secretary.
