Apple's WWDC Set for June

Apple will unveil the next generation of iOS and MacOS on June 4th

Apple's just announced its annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC 18) will take place on June 4-9.

Apple is expected to unveil new details about future versions of iOS-its mobile operating system that runs on iPhones and iPads-and macOS-it's laptop and desktop operating system found in its line of Macs and MacBook computers.

WWDC 2018 will be held at the McEnery Convention Center, the same location as previous year.

This is the second year that Apple will host WWDC at the McEnery Convention Center. As of today, $1,599 tickets are being offered "by random selection" from the pool of developers who have signed up by 10 a.m. Up to 350 WWDC Student Scholarships are available this year, providing students and members of all STEM organizations an opportunity to earn a free ticket to WWDC.

While iPhone and Mac may be the most focused-on platforms, that's not to say WWDC will concern itself exclusively with them. New for 2018 will be HomePod, too, with Apple's freshly-released smart speaker intended as a hub not only for smart home technology but Siri interactions too.
