England all-rounder Ben Stokes pleads not guilty to affray after appearing via video link at Bristol Crown Court on Monday morning.

The 26-year-old all-rounder, who missed the entire Ashes series after he was suspended from playing for England following the incident, is accused of the crime along with two other men.

England allrounder Ben Stokes won't play in the Lord's Test against India after his trial date for affray was set for August 6 in Bristol's Crown Court. He was introduced to His Honour Judge Blair QC, the Recorder of Bristol, and replied by saying: "Hi, Judge".

The trial date has been set for 6 August and the three defendants were granted unconditional bail. England's second test against India starts August 9 at Lord's in London.

According to ESPNcricinfo, all three defendants were told they "must be here for your trial".
