Bridesmaids star Kristen Wiig has joined the cast of the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel. When she isn't flashing fangs, Minerva is chasing down rare antiquities - a day job in line with Diana Prince's, as she's working at the Louvre in the Department of Antiquities in the first scenes of Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman sees Cheetah as someone who is lost.

You announced some time ago, the actress Kristen Wiig (Ghostbusters, My best friends) was in talks to portray the evil main Wonder Woman 2, Cheetah.

There's no word yet on how closely the film will follow the comics, but Wiig is sure to be entertaining in the role. Her strength is derived by her hatred and jealousy for Wonder Woman.

Set in the 1980s, the "Wonder Woman" sequel is expected to open in theaters November 1, 2019. Not all fans are supportive of the choice of Wiig to play Cheetah. Her more recent works include "Downsizing" and "Mother!".

Jenkins reportedly became the highest-paid female filmmaker in history when she signed on to direct the sequel to the 2017 blockbuster "Wonder Woman".
