CDR scam: Nawazuddin Siddiqui dismisses allegations, calls them 'random'

The actor was called-in for statement by Thane police in Maharashtra

Hindustan Times reports that the actor, along with his wife and lawyer were summoned in a scam CDR case.

In a fresh twist in the neighbouring Thane city CDR case, the thane Crime Branch has summoned Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for investigations, but he failed to respond, official sources said here today.

In his defense the 43 year old stated that he accompanied his daughter, Shora, to her school for an exhibition when this event supposedly happened. Siddiqui, on Saturday, tweeted, "Last evening, I was helping my daughter with a school project. We have issued summons to him, but he has failed to appear before us for investigations", Thane Crime Branch Senior Police Inspector Nitin Thakare said. Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Trimukhi had revealed in a statement: "Three arrested accused, Prasad Palekar, Ajinkya Nagargoje and Jigar Makhwana informed the police that advocate Rizwan Siddiqui had obtained the CDRs of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's wife from private detectives".
