Twin babies found in suitcase in Arkansas ditch, police say

Bodies of infant twins found in suitcase near Wynne Ark

The bodies of two newborn infants, believed to be twins, were discovered around 1:45 p.m. Friday in Cross County along County Road 602.

The sheriff's office says this is an ongoing investigation and details about the case can't yet be released.

People who live along that stretch of road know it as Morh Road.

The unidentified bodies were inside a purple suitcase on the side of a ditch.

"Nothing like that ever happens around here, and I don't know who would ever want to do something like that". It's believed a passerby found the suitcase and dialed 911.

The bodies have been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsies, which should help determine how the babies died and when, Fox 16 reported.

The Sheriff's office has not disclosed the sex or race of the babies.
