Pakistan summons Indian diplomat over unprovoked firing across LoC

Army gives commanders on LoC nod to hit back

The Indian Army has killed around 20 Pakistani soldiers and injured several others since January 1 this year by cranking up its policy to conduct punitive fire assaults and guerrilla operations along the Line of Control (LoC) to "pro-actively dominate" the border, government sources asserted on Thursday.

Pakistan Army troops have destroyed Indian Army post which was targeting innocent citizens in Tatta Pani (Hot Spring) sector along the Line of Control, Inter Services Public Relations said Thursday.

Skirmishes along the LoC have seen an increase after the right-wing government of Narendra Modi came into power in India. "A brief firing exchange took place between the troops and the terrorists".

Last week, Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists targeted an Army camp in Sunjuwan in Jammu in which six soldiers and a civilian were killed.

Three killed, 7 injured after under-construction building collapses in Bengaluru
Further details on the number of casualties and an official confirmation on number of people trapped is still awaited. The injured were rescued and shifted to a private hospital where one of them is in a critical situation.

"A similar number of terrorists (180-200) are ready to cross the LoC to the north of Pir Panjal ranges".

In 2017, Indian forces committed more than 1900 ceasefire violations.

The number of terrorists is much more than the number previous year indicating a "hot-summer" ahead.

It may be mentioned here that the Pakistani Army on Wednesday violated the 2003 ceasefire in Nowshera sector of LoC in Rajouri district when around 7 pm, the Pakistan Army using small arms, automatics and mortars, fired at Indian positions.
