Luke Wilson pro golfer Bill Haas injured in fatal car crash

The driver of the Ferrari - who was driving with golf pro Haas, 35 - was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were taken to a nearby hospital.

PGA Tour golfer Bill Haas was seriously injured Tuesday in a fatal motor vehicle crash in Southern California that also involved actor Luke Wilson.

Haas was a passenger in the Ferrari, whose driver died at the scene. He did not sustain serious injury.

L.A. police department detective Jeff Fischer told KTLA that a third vehicle - a Toyota SUV owned by actor Luke Wilson - was clipped by the Ferrari.

Haas, a six-time PGA Tour victor and the son of professional golfer Jay Haas, was here for the Genesis Open, which will be played at Riviera Golf Course in Pacific Palisades starting Thursday. Bill will withdraw from the Genesis Open and plans to head home to Greenville to recover.

Two people, including Haas were injured in the crash, according to Los Angeles-based KTLA.

Jeff Fischer from LAPD yesterday told local TV station KTLA that Haas was "doing Okay". The driver of the Ferrari, a 71-year-old man, was killed in the crash.
