Sonos Pokes Fun at Apple's Homepod Launch

Apple Homepod is now on sale – Siri-powered tunes are headed your way

On Tuesday, the tech giant said its new smart speaker will hit stores on Friday, February 9.

But delays in its production have left Apple trying to play catch-up in the sector, which is now dominated by Amazon's smash hit Echo product, and also features Google's Home device.

Universal praise of the HomePod, which is available for $349, was about its sound quality, with reviewers saying it is by far the best-sounding speaker in the market.

The HomePod was first unveiled past year at Apple's annual developer conference in June. Compared to the Amazon Echo and Google Home, the HomePod certainly wins the sound test. The HomePod also works only with iOS devices.

Apple AirPod Allegedly Explodes, Apple Investigating
The incident happened earlier this week when Jason Colon was working out at a local LA Fitness club in St. The first was that the battery components in the Galaxy Note 7 did not fit in the battery's casing.

So can Siri take on Alexa? The HomePod does have features the Amazon Echo and Google Home don't, such as the ability to play podcasts at a faster speed or use voice to send iMessages and WhatsApp texts, according to BuzzFeed's Nicole Nguyen. Apple has been using the service quite a bit for advertising, most recently running ads for the Homepod - but 18 months after joining Twitter, Apple still hasn't sent out even a single tweet. WhatsApp is supported by Siri, but beyond that very few apps are.

"Good luck with your Homepod launch Apple". The question is: will hardcore music fans embrace voice control the way more casual fans have?

But Sonos didn't just call the Homepod "Fruit Machine". There's a lot of stuff about "high-excursion woofers" and "custom seven-tweeter arrays" that we'll spare you, but the real kicker is that it's intelligent enough to adapt the sound according to where you place it in the room and what music you're playing. "Anyone else should consider other options".
