Israeli Army Reports Downing Iranian Drone, Attacking 'Targets' Inside Syria

An Israeli F-16 fighter jet crashed in the country's north after Syria responded with anti-aircraft fire to an Israeli operation targeting Iranian control systems in Syria, IDF said.

In response, the IDF said it attacked the drone's "launch beacon" in Syria in "a complicated surgical strike", destroying it, as well as other targets involved in the launch.

Israeli military spokesman Jonathan Conricus said Iran was "responsible for this severe violation of Israeli sovereignty".

"In response, the Israeli Defense Forces struck Iranian sites in Syria", it said.

"We identified an Iranian drone UAV which took off from Syrian territory".
