Apple AirPod Allegedly Explodes, Apple Investigating

Apple is investigating why one AirPod caught on fire in Florida

The incident happened earlier this week when Jason Colon was working out at a local LA Fitness club in St. Petersburg, Fla.

He promptly took both AirPods out and set them on a bit of rec center hardware while he looked for help, however when he restored, the AirPod being referred to was roasted and broken separated. By the time he got back, there wasn't much left. It was already popped. Colon told WFLA he was jamming out to a dance mix when white smoke started to billow out from the right pod's chassis. "You can see fire harm", he told WFLA. "He's thankful he thought to remove the wireless AirPods when he sensed trouble". "I didn't see it happen but it was already fried". But I'm sure since it hangs down, it could've been earlobe. "Earlobe could've been burnt". The energy then causes an increase in temperature resulting in more energy release.

This spells yet another problem for Apple, who has recently dealt with a large amount of backlash due to some questionable decisions they made, with their lack of transparency causing huge public relations issues.

The first was that the battery components in the Galaxy Note 7 did not fit in the battery's casing.

The breakdown came largely in the Senate, when after a day of inaction, Republican Sen. "She negotiated the deal". A band of tea party Republicans swung against the legislation as well, repelled by its spiraling spending levels.

We've seen reports like this previously.

Colon thinks it was faulty battery.

Worth pointing out is that while the inherent incident is likely to raise serious questions about AirPod safety, it's only the first of such incidents to affect AirPods - and we now have no reason to believe there's a broader, software, hardware or technical-related issue afoot.

A man in Florida asserts that one of his Apple AirPods started smoking and later detonated. We have reached out for any updates.
