Shirtless Tongan Flag-Bearer Goes Shirtless in Pyeongchang

This is Taufatofua leading his delegation during the opening ceremony of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games

With North Korea sending 22 athletes to march along South Korea during the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony, this selfie seemed to indicate things to come between the neighbors.

Well Taufatofua is back, only this time at the 2018 Winter Olympics as he appeared as Tonga's flag bearer and lone Tongan athlete who will compete in Pyeongchang from the Pacific Island.

Taufatofua, who was born in Australia but raised in Tonga, made world headlines when he bared his torso in the warm Rio climate.

According to PyeongChang 2018 media release he said, "I want to still be alive for my race". "It is going to be freezing outside so I will be keeping nice and warm".

The weather week ahead: Lots of clouds and rain
This rain will continue intermittently on Saturday but could remain fairly light as the better moisture remains to the west. We'll start to drop again on Friday as clouds increase again with a slight chance of snow showers Friday night.

The sister of North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Un, shook hands with South Korean President Moon Jae-in while they watched an elaborate show of light, sound and human performance. He said, "After Rio, I needed a new challenge", he said.

But lo-and-behold, the 34-year-old was given a rapturous welcome when he walked out at the Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium completely topless, oiled up and carrying the Tongan flag, even though the temperature was an icy -1 degrees Celsius. He said, "Every time I ski I feel like I die a little inside". So, Taufatofua quit his job as a social worker and embarked upon intensive training as a cross-country skier - undeterred by the minor fact that he had never previously seen snow. Skiing, you have pain for an hour.

"The closest I had got was within 30 points".
