Fortnite Reaches New Heights, Boasting 3.4 Million Concurrent Players

"#Fortnite" has gained incredible popularity since the release of its Battle Royale mode in late September past year.

By comparison, that's ahead of the 3 million peak concurrent players that PUBG reached in January.

Nonetheless, 3.4 million players all playing Fortnite at once is an impressive achievement and a testament to Epic's dedication to constantly updating the game. Over the weekend, on Super Bowl Sunday, the game hit a new record of 3.4 million concurrent players, Epic announced in a blog post this week. Considering that the game has over 40 million players, having 3 million of them online at the same time shouldn't be a hard goal to achieve. Speaking of the title's popularity, the publisher and developer have now revealed that the game has surpassed a previous concurrent player record set by its competitor, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

"While we can not promise there won't be future outages as our services reach new peaks, we hope to live by this great quote from Futurama, 'When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all".

The video game is growing quickly and it's probably the most played game that's available on both PC and consoles. What's more, it was released for free, ensuring that nobody was left out of the bloodbath.

Fortnite is getting so big so fast that Epic's blog post also featured numerous mentions of how they are hiring in offices in Seattle, North Carolina, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, the UK, Stockholm, and Seoul. Epic wrote on their official website.
