Scott Baio 'Looking Forward' to LAPD Investigation After Nicole Eggert Files Report

Nicole Eggert has accused former co-star Scott Baio of sexually abusing her when she was 14

Nicole Eggert has officially filed a police report alleging sexual abuse against actor Scott Baio, her former "Charles In Charge" co-star, her attorney Lisa Bloom confirmed this week.

"Nicole answered all of their questions for over an hour and told her story of sexual abuse by Scott Baio when she was a minor", Bloom said in a statement Wednesday to HuffPost.

Baio has vehemently denied the claims, saying that he and Eggert had consensual sex but that the encounter occurred when she was 18 or older.

In the series Baio played a college student who worked as a male nanny, Eggert appeared in the second half of the show's run, playing one of the children in Charles' care. Baio has also previously denied Eggert's claim they had intercourse when she was 17, explaining that by her own admission, they had intercourse after the show was over - the show ended in 1990, when Eggert was 18. Her appearance on Dr. Oz had also been stalled while the producers vetted the allegations; her interview was initially filmed on January 10, but didn't air until after both Eggert and Baio went public with their claims. Earlier, Baio had urged her to present her claims to the proper authorities.

Late Tuesday, Officer Tony Im, another spokesman for the police, was even more noncommital, saying LAPD is "aware of her allegations but we have no active investigations at this time". "I can't keep up with her, honestly".

Bloom continued, "We appreciate the Los Angeles police detectives' interest in this case, and we will fully cooperate with their investigation".

Baio also insisted that she go to police with her claims. We provided a list of those names to the police.

It was clear; however, how heartbroken Sara was reading the abuse her friend had not only witnessed but also suffered according to his statement.

While sitting down with Megyn Kelly last week, Eggert alleged that Baio first penetrated her while sitting in his vehicle at 14-years-old, and after that, sexually abused her "probably once a week" until she turned 16.

"If I could go back to a younger Nicole, I would tell her that she doesn't have to be ashamed", Eggert told interviewer Megyn Kelly.

Polinsky starred alongside Eggert and Baio on Charles in Charge as one of the Powell siblings, Adam.

"How any of this could have happened is absolutely impossible", he added.

"In those days I had moments of being so hurt and so upset, and even thoughts of ending my life", she says.

Neither Baio nor his reps have returned calls for comment.
