Wichitans react to President Trump's comment about Haiti, African countries

President Trump speaks to the media as he meets with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg in the Oval Office on Jan. 10

The president's reference to African "sh**hole" countries and reported resistance to more immigration from Haiti felt like a tipping point in the number of people willing to call HIM a racist, rather than say his words or actions exhibited racism. Trump told senators in the Oval Office, according to a source briefed on the meeting, the comments from which were first reported by The Washington Post. The most "tough" thing at the scandalous meeting was the "outlandish proposal" made by the bipartisan group on DACA, he added.

Dr. Ronny Jackson, in a statement released by the White House, said the examination "went exceptionally well". This is the time but, day by day, they are blowing the one great opportunity they have.

JB Pritzker, a Democrat running for IL governor, released the following statement Friday: "I've said it before and I'll say it again: Donald Trump is a racist and a xenophobe who has never had the dignity to be in the White House", said JB Pritzker.

In Austin, a 28-year-old Haitian who said his temporary protected status expires in a week, said he was not surprised by Trump's comments.

"Mr. Trump surely does not understand that what makes America Great is its diversity stemming from the immigration of the "poor, the exhausted and the huddled masses" from these various countries", Monestime said.

Many of those troops are based at a United States base in the East African country of Djibouti.

There are many reasons a president shouldn't say such a thing. When he spoke to reporters on Air Force One earlier this week, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said it wouldn't be included in the physical, The Hill reported.

Republican leaders were largely silent, though House Speaker Paul Ryan said the vulgar language was "very unfortunate, unhelpful".

Trump insisted Friday that he "never said anything derogatory about Haitians other than Haiti is, obviously, a very poor and troubled country". Two GOP senators present at the meeting later said in a joint statement that they "do not recall the president saying these comments specifically", after Sen. The largest group is El Salvador and the second is Honduran and the third is Haitian, and when I mentioned that fact to him, he said, 'Haitians? "The conversation about who we are as Americans has shifted and given in to a kind of xenophobia that makes it hard to discuss issues that affect all Americans". He has also considered recording all his meetings to prevent similar controversies in the future. Trump ended the program and finding a legislative solution is a key issue in negotiations between the White House and congressional Democrats on immigration policy. "Why don't we get more people from Norway?'"
