Protests urged for Trump Atlanta visit

United States civil rights group the NAACP is urging people to wear white as a protest against Donald Trump during the president's visit to Atlanta.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported last week that Trump plans to attend the championship game between Georgia and Alabama at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. A few dozen protesters have taken a knee and spoken out against President Donald Trump, just ahead of the College Football Playoff title game. Trump and supporters say that kneeling during the anthem is a sign of disrespect.

The Atlanta branch of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) also urged people to wear white to the game and to wave their towels as Trump entered the stadium.

The NAACP also planned a "Twitter storm" to begin at 6 p.m. and continue through the game to highlight what they say are lies told by the president.

Steve Bannon Out At Breitbart
He quickly presided over the brand of economic populism promoted by Trump and was hired as chief strategist for the White House. The Daily Beast first reported on Thursday that he had agreed to the interview.

The football players for Monday's game remained in their locker rooms for the anthem, as is typical for college games. "We respect those who choose to do so, and we fully expect some groups who will be protesting outside the game".

Richard Rose, the President of the NAACP's Atlanta chapter, told Fox News the protests are partially a result of the President's decision to open Georgia's coastal waters to offshore drilling development.

Atlanta police said they would be setting up several designated areas for protesters and won't interfere with demonstrations unless protesters break the law.

Tee Stern, with the group called Refuse Facism ATL, said the demonstration was called to "take a knee" against the Trump administration.
