OnePlus 6 to be released late second quarter with Snapdragon 845 chipset

OnePlus Will Start Talking to US Carriers, Confirms that Next OnePlus Phone will Launch in Q2

To do so, CEO Peter Lau says that OnePlus will begin talking to USA carriers.

Lau didn't give too much information on the OnePlus 6, but he did confirm that it will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei had said in an earlier interview that the company has not planned to launch OnePlus 6T yet.

One of the world's biggest smartphone makers, Huawei had hoped to finally crack the U.S. market with the launch of the new Mate 10 Pro.

However, it would be safe to speculate that the upcoming device would follow chronological order and would be named OnePlus 6.

Lastly, Lau expressed interest in partnering with U.S. carrier networks to bring the OnePlus flagships to consumers in the States via network contracts.

Speaking with CNET in an interview, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed the device's launch at the end of Q2 2018. So, OnePlus is losing a huge opportunity of selling millions of devices with carrier partnership.

Myanmar trial set for Reuters journalists
The Official Secrets Act dates back to 1923, when Myanmar, then known as Burma, was a province of British India. The United States Embassy also weighed in on the situation, calling for the journalists to be released.

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has seen much success with its latest flagships, and this has raised the bars for the upcoming OnePlus 6.

Lau also revealed that the handset will be powered by Qualcomm's 10nm Snapdragon 845 SoC, because "there's no other choice".

When the company had newly entered the US market, it saved money by selling smartphones through invitation system meaning that it manufactured smartphones according to the number of invitations that buyers received. Most recently, the company also released a special Sandstone White version of the 5T, which sold out nearly instantly in the U.S.

OnePlus will face challenges in forging a partnership with a USA carrier, though. Striking a deal with a carrier could potentially increase deamand for the Chinese brand, given close to 90 per cent people in the U.S. purchase their smartphones via carriers.

After months of being rumored, Huawei hot deal with United States carriers, Verizon and AT&T eventually fell through.
