Mother of black child in 'racist' H&M ad speaks out

THE mother of a child who was featured in a controversial H&M; ad for a hoodie that read, "Coolest Monkey in the Jungle", said that people calling it racially insensitive need to "get over it".

In another instance, Mango urged people to "stop crying wolf".

The company apologized in a statement and claimed they were removing it from all online channels and will not be selling it in the United States.

H&M has already issued an apology saying they have taken down the image and the hoodie has also been removed from their product offering.

"This is one of hundreds of outfits my son had modeled", Mango wrote in a Facebook post, Daily Mail reported.

In a shocking response to commenters on her face Facebook page, the model's mother, Terry Mango, is telling everyone to "get over it".

In another message, she added: "That's my son.... av been to all photoshoots and this was not an exception, everyone is entitled to their opinion about this. I'm certain there will Be media fixers and whatnot and maybe a grand gesture like a donation to some charity (donations under these circumstances are the corporate version #SomeOfMyBestFriendsAre move if there ever was one) all this tells me about @HM is that the seats in the boardroom lack something.wanna take a guess?".

The Weeknd tweeted earlier this week that he was "shocked and embarrassed" by the photo.
