'Little rocket man' cleverly changes debate around North Korean nukes

Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un have traded barbs for months now the US president has indicated that he might be able to have a good relationship with the North Korean leader

On December of 2016, he called Putin "very smart" and a few months later in an interview with Bill O'Reilly, Trump said "I do respect [Putin]".

38 North, which monitors the reclusive state, said recent satellite imagery of the Punggye-ri nuclear test site shows increased activity around the West Portal through December past year. Gary Lynch, general manager of the Texas-based Rising S Bunkers, told Newsweek his company saw a significant increase in sales since Trump became president--especially as the stakes have risen with North Korea. The North Koreans see growing signs, reflecting President Donald Trump's "America First" principle, that the United States is prepared to accept the bad loss of lives that would result from a large-scale military conflict with North Korea. On the Korean peninsula, Kim Jong-un has once again reinforced his growing nuclear weapons capability and apparent willingness to make nuclear threats.

Instead, Trump tweeted, "North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the 'Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times. I'm a very flexible person".

Asked whether he has spoken with the North Korean leader, Trump told the newspaper: "I don't want to comment on it". Kim has responded by calling the USA president a "mentally deranged United States dotard".

"' Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!"

At the same time, United States troops are reportedly training in the kind of tunnel warfare - and buying the specific kinds of gear - necessary to wage war in North Korea. The island state is roughly 4,600 miles away from North Korea, making it a relatively natural target for the rogue state. Trump is Kim's senior by 37 years.

But Pyongyang - which boycotted the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul - agreed Tuesday to send athletes and officials to the Games as the North and South held their first formal talks in two years at Panmunjom in the Demilitarised Zone.

"[Trump is] very good for what is now called the prepper industry: Companies that either manufacture or sell emergency preparation products", Jones said, adding that those specializing in merchandise related to nuclear attacks have experienced a boost in particular.

"We can not stand idly by as Donald Trump holds us all hostage to his petulant mood swings", said Dr. Bruce Blair, a veteran nuclear launch officer and co-founder of the Global Zero movement to eliminate nuclear weapons. Technically, South Korea and the United States remain at war with North Korea after the Korean War ended in 1953 with an armistice instead of a peace treaty.

The same is true, they argued, about the latest US-South Korean air exercise Vigilant Ace, which involved 230 aircraft and a large number of varied types of stealth aircraft.
