Fingerprint recognition is well-known biometrics to secure smartphones. A graphical UI, designed exclusively for this goal will be shown up on the screen of these smartphones when the fingerprint recognition is needed. Users can press the fingerprint graphic on the screen to perform unlocking, payment and other operations. You just need to tap on the display instead of using exclusive fingerprint sensor located on the physical home button and the rear. When fingerprint recognition is not required, the UI will be invisible and will not disrupt the overall visual experience. It can also be used to authenticate payments. The smartphone is a demonstration of the company's continued commitment to providing its consumers an extraordinary user experience. Since this device has a new technology, it's frustrating to know that users have to experience a slight lag.
To begin with, the new Vivo smartphone with fingerprint sensor on the display will be made available in China followed by other markets.
Vivo senior vice president Alex Feng confirmed the technology be available in a smartphone which will be announced early 2018, possibly at Mobile World Congress next month.
At the moment, the feature is still on a prototype device and vivo says they will have it on a real production smartphone very soon.
