A look at Trump's schedule

President Trump puts himself at the sharp end of deregulation

On Thursday, the president has an especially light schedule: "Policy Time" at 11am, then "Executive Time" at 12pm, then lunch for an hour, then more "Executive Time" from 1:30pm.

Fighting back against reports of a late start to Trump's working day, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said: "The president is one of the hardest workers I've ever seen and puts in long hours and long days almost every day of the week all year long".

During the day, as well as before and after, Trump's schedule is filled with "Executive time", which, according to Axios, is code for watching TV.

On Wednesday, the president has one meeting, one briefing, a video chat with Hope Hicks and the day ends at 4.

Trump is postponing the beginning of his work day until 11 a.m., taking fewer meetings and and demanding more "executive time" in which he is unscheduled for official duties. In their year-end review, the New York Times White House team noted that the president spent upwards of four hours a day watching television, a claim the president directly rebuked.

The formal medical check will be Trump's first since entering the White House and comes at a time of intense speculation about his mental and physical suitability for the presidency.

Indeed, Trump is reportedly on the go for much of the day, with reports from previous employees of the president describing him as "relentless".

That is evidently representative of a typical workday, where a meeting or two are fit in around "making phone calls and watching cable news in the dining room adjoining the Oval [Office]", per the report.

While aides told Axios that Trump is always busy, they added that he was harder to control once the day ended.

Responding to the report, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders called President Trump "one of the hardest workers I've ever seen" who "puts in long hours and long days almost every day of the week all year long".

Trump does often send tweets early in the morning, some of which are clearly in response to reports on "Fox and Friends" and other networks.

As a presidential candidate, Donald Trump largely relied on a series of assertions that he repeated ad nauseam until they were perceived as fact.
