Huawei P11 rumoured to feature triple lens camera

Next Huawei P-series camera could top the Pixel 2 and iPhone X

There's no official word from Huawei about the existence of the next P-series flagship so we suggest you take it as what it is - a rumor; things may turn out to be different when the alleged P11 is officially announced. Blass claims that this new smartphone or series of smartphones will have 40 MP, triple-lens (5x hybrid zoom) camera module on the back and a 24 MP selfie camera, all of which will be co-developed by German camera company Leica. The ads have not been officially published and the agency already removed them from its portfolio. The information comes from Bruce Lee, Huawei's Vice President of Handsets Product Line, so it's worth remembering. There will be a 24MP front-facing camera as well. The use of a trio of rear cameras hasn't really been seen before, so how the lenses would be configured - in terms of specifications like sensor setup and aperture size - is anyone's guess. The triple lens could also produce even sharper pictures.

Over the past few years, Huawei has focused a lot on the camera quality of its flagship devices, partnering with Leica to offer users with excellent photographic capabilities. The artwork also indicates a better low light performance in Pro Night Mode and there's also AI assistance for faster scene recognition. We don't know what this entails exactly, but it is possible that Huawei's AI-powered tech might be capable of processing images on a per-scene basis, depending on what you're photographing, by cross-referencing your shot to a pre-existing database of other images and applying suitable changes automatically.
