DJ says Taylor Swift's $1 payment is in the mail

Taylor Swift, Fellow 'Silence Breakers' Named 'TIME' Person of the Year

David Mueller, a radio deejay convicted of groping Taylor Swift during a meet and greet with the singer in 2013 has paid the $1 a Denver court previously ordered him to pay, People reports.

David Mueller, the former radio DJ who first sued Swift for $3 million for defamation only to be defeated in a countersuit, told the Associated Press he sent her the payment on November 28, and reportedly provided the publication a letter as proof it went in the mail. Instead, he made a decision to mail Taylor a Sacagawea coin as "a final jab at the singer in a case her side called a win for all women".

Taylor Swift has opened up on what powered her sexual assault testimony.

Mueller had sued Swift claiming she falsely accused him of groping her and sought up to $3 million. "I'm told it was the most amount of times the word "ass" has ever been said in Colorado Federal Court", she added. After an internal investigation, the station chose to fire the DJ. Two years later, he filed a defamation suit against Taylor, saying that nothing had happened, and that she had ruined his reputation and career.

"My mum was so upset after her cross-examination, she was physically too ill to come to court the day I was on the stand".

Talking about how she felt while she testified at the trial, she said, "This man hadn't considered any formalities when he assaulted me, and his lawyer didn't hold back on my mom-why should I be polite?" When I testified, I already had to watch this man bully, badger, and assault my team, including my mother. The details were all skewed, as they often are.

Swift, who called the trial process "demoralizing", said that many people didn't realize that Mueller had sued her first. There was an audible gasp in the courtroom when I was named as the defendant.

Our essential brief on culture, the news, and more. You might be made to feel like you're overreacting, because society has made this stuff seem so casual. But the one thing she did that did not survive in the news-cycle for long-but should have-is the symbolic victory she gained over a man who sexually assaulted her. My advice is that you not blame yourself and do not accept the blame others will try to place on you.
