Mariah Woods' body removed from scene death, disposed of, warrant says

Body believed to be missing 3-year-old girl found, mother's boyfriend charged

Authorities believe they found the body of 3-year-old Mariah Woods in a creek outside Jacksonville, North Carolina, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said Saturday.

Mariah's biological father, Alex Woods, expressed suspicion about what Mariah's mother said happened during the search for his daughter. The girl's mother's live in boyfriend, Earl Kimrey, 32, has now been charged in connection with her disappearance, CNN is reporting. "The arrest warrants are public record and the records speaks for themselves".

The arrest warrant said Kimrey obstructed justice by "removing Mariah Woods' body from the scene of her death, and did hide (the) death and body, knowing that (she) died from unnatural causes". He was being held on a $1 million bond. They added that additional charges could be filed against Kimrey. "The defendant acted with deceit and intent to fraud".

While the medical examiner's office has not yet officially confirmed the identity of the body, FBI Agent Stanley Meador on Saturday asked that anyone with surveillance cameras near the home where Mariah had disappeared share their video with authorities, according to reports.

Kimrey is a graduate of Orange High School in Hillsborough.

A memorial has now been set up - with flowers, stuffed animals and other mementos - near Mariah's home on the 2400 block of Dawson Cabin Road in Jacksonville.
