CD PROJEKT RED Promises Cyberpunk 2077 Won't Be A 'Greedy' Game

CD Projekt RED takes a jab at loot crates, says they'll “leave greed to others”

With their tweet, CD Projekt Red reminded everyone why they've quickly become one of the most gamer-friendly developers out there. You needn't worry, according to CD Projekt RED, as the studio took a hard stance against the controversial practices on Twitter, going as far as saying they'll "leave greed to others".

"Worry not. When thinking Cyberpunk 2077, think nothing less than The Witcher 3-huge single-player, open world, story-driven RPG", reads a line from the tweet.

Pretty Good Gaming recently uploaded a video discussing the interview and said that CD Projekt Red was "considering "games as a service" for the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077.

CD Projekt RED: Cyberpunk 2077 Won't Have Hidden Catches, We Leave Greed To Others

In the midst of drama surrounding Star Wars Battlefront 2's microtransactions, coming off the back of similar criticisms of Forza 7 and National Basketball Association 2K18 (among others), fans of single-player games were alarmed to hear CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiciński say Cyberpunk 2077 would have online elements. The interview, translated by TechRaptor, conveyed many interesting tidbits of information regarding the team's highly anticipated follow-up to their Witcher franchise, CyberPunk 2077, but Kiciński's wording on one topic has given raise to some level of alarm amongst their fanbase.

CD Projekt RED certainly doesn't mince words, but the studio's sincerity has always been what gamers loved about it. No hidden catch, you get what you pay for - no bullshit, just honest gaming like with Wild Hunt. Game publishers are wanting it to be a "service" much like Destiny or The Division.
