Armenian PM extends condolences to First Vice-President of Iran on devastating earthquake

A magnitude 7.3 quake hit western part of Iran along the border with Iraq on Sunday Nov.12, 2017 at 21:48 pm local time, killing at least 328 people and injuring more than 3950 up to now.

Iranian state news agency Irna said 530 people had died in Iran alone.

The magnitude 7.3 natural disaster struck Sunday night Iran time, just as people were going to bed.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani visited the town of Sarpol-e Zahab, one of the worst hit by the November 12 quake, on November 14 and gave a speech in which he asserted that the collapse of recently built buildings "should be investigated".

The worst damage appeared to be in the Kurdish town of Sarpol-e-Zahab in the western Iranian province of Kermanshah. President Hassan Rouhani is due to visit the region on Tuesday.

"We are living in a tent and we don't have enough food or water", he said. "We have no tents, no blankets", said one young resident of Sar-e Pol-e Zahab, the city most affected by the disaster.
