Lifesaving Surgery After Unborn Baby 'Kicks Through' Her Mum's Womb

Pregnant woman nearly dies after unborn baby kicked so hard the womb broke

A woman and her newborn daughter have both survived after the unborn child kicked so hard that her leg poked out of her mother's womb.

The hospital posted a statement on its social media page, saying that the woman suffered severe pain for five hours before she was taken to the medical facility.

The incident occurred on October 2, after mum Zhang - then 35 weeks pregnant - presented at the Peking University Shenzhen Hospital in China at 10am, initially complaining of an upset stomach, The Sun reports.

Doctors were reportedly shocked when scans revealed the ghastly wound on the wall of Ms Zhang's uterus with the baby's leg poking outside the womb.

Initial checks were run for what Zhang was still describing as stomach pains, and it wasn't until specialists conducted an ultrasound on the woman's womb that they realised what had happened.

Davido reacts, after autopsy report reveals Tagbo died of suffocation
Imohimi lamented the spate of youth involvement in drug abuse and urged the public to partner the police in curbing the trend. It was gathered that the new invitation by the police has to do with fresh revelations that Tagbo died out of suffocation.

But after a scan, doctors saw the baby's leg in a odd location.

This left her at threat of suffering an infection, a haemorrhage, or even losing the baby, doctors said.

According to Dr Zhong, the mother's amniotic sac was also ruptured and the amniotic fluid had flown into her abdomen. "Uterine rupture during pregnancy is a rare event and [usually] results in life-threatening maternal and fetal compromise", it says.

The baby was born by emergency caesarean section 10 minutes after the doctors made the discovery.
