The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly frontrunners for Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade and the Bulls agree to a buyout

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported Wade will likely be choosing between four teams, as the Thunder, Spurs, Heat, and Cavaliers will all make strong pushes, with Cleveland as the favorite.

Oklahoma City, which has added Paul George and Carmelo Anthony to point guard Russell Westbrook, could also enter the mix.

The 35-year-old Wade has won three National Basketball Association championships, has taken home a Finals MVP (2006) and has been named an All-Star 12 out of his 14 seasons in the league.

Talks between the two sides about a resolution intensified ahead of Monday's start of training camp, according to ESPN.

Wade appeared in 60 games with the Bulls lasts season, and averaged just under 30 minutes per contest. The now-Thunder star will try to bring Wade down to his new city with him.

Alex Kennedy of Hoopshype tweeted that the Lakers are among the teams to reach out to Wade. Previously, the Bulls front office was reluctant to buyout Wade and preferred to trade his US$23.8 million (AU$29.8 million) salary.

Cleveland owes Dwyane Wade nothing. The Heat drafted Wade fifth overall in 2003 and he teamed with Shaquille O'Neal to win a championship in 2006 and then two more with James and Chris Bosh in 2012 and '13.

The obvious connection, and something that has been discussed all offseason is the Cleveland Cavaliers. In fact, Parker made it clear he won't be suiting up for the team's opener on October 18 against the Minnesota Timberwolves as the Spurs, under coach Gregg Popovich, typically take an ultra-conservative approach in bringing players back from injury.

Dwyane Wade's triumphant return to this hometown is already over. The pair worked out recently, with Wade posting on Instagram: "To say we had a great week of work would be an understatement".

James and Wade spent a week working out together in Los Angeles this summer.
