Woman abuses, slaps two Army men in Vasant Kunj; arrested

In a unusual incident of road rage, a middle-aged Gurugram-based woman repeatedly slapped a jawan in the middle of the road in South Delhi's Vasant Kunj. "She was married in 1995 with an army official's son and thereafter due to matrimonial Dispute got separated from her husband in 2008". Later, Metropolitan Magistrate Lovleen granted bail to the accused Smriti Kalra after she was produced before the court.

The incident took place around 1.30pm on September 11 when an Army group was on its way from the National Security Guards base at Manesar to Nizamuddin railway station. She then stepped out of her auto and asked Singh and his driver to alight their vehicle.

The soldier and other soldiers are seen trying to speak to her, but to no avail. She came to the truck and banged on its windows. "She kept blocking the way as we tried to overtake her vehicle, ' alleged one of the men in the FIR". She apparently blamed the constable for being an Army personnel after which he came back to the truck and sat at the driver's seat. "She hurled abuses at the Army", the FIR said.

Traffic jam had built up while this was happening with many people standing there.
